You know that moment, you are about to leave your house - perhaps in a rush to go to work - and you can't find your Oyster card?


And you feel like


Well I had that today. Again.

Then I remembered an email I received from TfL earlier in the week. It said I didn't need an Oyster card anymore.


I thought, "great, I'll have to try that".

At the station, I felt really uncomfortable taking out my wallet and taking out my credit card in front of everyone.


(It was rush hour and much more crowded than that!)

Anyway, I had no choice. I took out my credit card and touched in. At the end of the journey, I touched out. It worked. Maybe a second slower than an Oyster but who cares, it worked!

That night, when I came home and went through my post, I found this letter:


You can imagine, how I felt:


Now I have to test if it interferes with the NFC chip on my phone when I stick it at the back of the  phone as Barclays suggests  . And if it doesn't, I'll be a really happy man!

So I wanted to say, well done Barclaycard! Extremely timely!
